In all seriousness, too many didn't turn up. Yaya, Dzeko, Kolarov all poor. Johnson ineffective in the time he had, Joe should've done better with the second.
We don't deserve to go through overall, just hope we don't put any eggs in the Europa League basket.

Let's face facts. We're just not good enough to compete with Europe's finest. If we can struggle agaiant a decent (but hardly world class)Napoli side, what would the likes of Barca or Real Madrid do to us? Once again, a strange line in Europe up from the bescarfed one, but he is now infallible so criticism is not allowed.

He does himself no favours either, as we were coming out they make a point of saying how Mancini says we are up there with RM and Barca, then we turn in a performance like that.

I tend to Agree with you Jim. Possibly a great domestic manager but when it comes to Europe he's found wanting.

...and I can't understand why!!! We've had a great run in the league so far, Look top quality in every game we've played.

So why the poor team selection for Bayern and Napoli last night (poor is harsh a term for some of the line up) The best team available should've played last night and by that I mean Barry>De Jong, Clichy>Kolarov, Richards>Zabaletta. Then if we got into a strong position, say 2 goals to the good, make some changes to rest legs for Sunday

It's so fucking frustrating! Still, S'alright saying "shouldda done this,played him, done that" Mancini's probably forgotten more than I will ever know about football so I'll go back to putting my jaw on my palm

I'd rather us win the league tbh, scumbos only won the champs league twice in all of the time they have dominated the prem, so that shows how hard it is to win it.

On that note they arnt covering themselves in glory from a far easier group than our own.

I realise that we were HIGHLY unlikely to win the competition this season. We're a long way behind the likes of Barca or Real, but it would have been nice to get out of the group. Firstly, the extra money generated by progression in the CL is not to be sniffed at re. the financial fair play thingummyjig. Secondly, more exposure in the main European competition can only be good in attracting more money to the club. And thirdly, it would mean avoiding those bloody thursday nights!!






And yes; I do know that we can still get out of the group.



ah well; I guess we'll have to make do with the PL this season!!

Of course we were unlikely to win it Jim, but when you take into account our recent rivalry with Spuds, it would have been nice to go better than they did in the competition.

Still, like yu all said, PL > CL

The thing to remember about Spuds and Leeds champs league runs, is that they didnt perform in the prem alongside that good champs league run.

Spuds only recovering after going out and Leeds nearly relegated bar a late run of results to pull them out of danger.

Yet we are sitting top of the league, this is why he rotates his team so much.

Im sure we will do better next season.
