I say Yea.
He is getting it right despite what the media tell us.

I really don't know so I've voted for the one option that is beyond any doubt.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
Yes for me. I'm not convinced he's the man but we need stability and he needs a chance to prove himself. Another manager bringing in more new players and a completely different culture would be too unsettling and we would be having this discussion again in a another years time.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
Not for me. Too cautious, too many grafters and not enough flair in m/f and some of his substitutions are frankly odd.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
Wow jims the only nay sayer (probably MM when he see's it also), not really a surprise as most of us, even though we have concerns as well, can see that changing the manager once more will only set us back further yet again, it is better to let him have 3 seasons and then if it still isnt happening, p45 time.
Also before Jim jumps in with the I've waited long enough line, so fuck we have all been waiting for ages and we will continue to wait because we "support Manchester City" through and through and we will still be here if the bubble bursts in 10 years time and we are shit again.
That is what being a supporter is about, dont get me wrong a sustained period of domination would'nt go amiss any time soon btw.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
i was willing to give him more time, but my patience and confidence in him finally went on saturday, his tactics and substitutions are bizaare to say the least. time to let him go im afraid.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
No point in me lying; I just don't think he's the man to take us where we want to go. 9 points out of the 21 available so far at home have gone west. 15 goals in 13 games (6 of them in 2 games), very little creativity in central midfield and fuck all pace in the side, at most 1 or 2 points better than at the same stage last season. Yeah, so Birmingham parked the bus. You can be sure there'll be plenty more teams that'll do exactly the same, and it's up to us to find that magic spark to break them down. We need a Fabregas-type player and Silva, although skillful, is more of a winger to me than a CM. And I realise that someone will throw back AJ and Balotelli in response to the lack of pace accusation. Balo's hardly played so far, so we'll have to wait and see with him. Hopefully he'll develop some common sense. As for AJ, even with him in the side our attacks seem so ponderous and slow. Sorry to be a doom-monger; I'd love to be able to say it's been an exhilarating start to the season and we've blown teams away, but it'd be a lie.

Yes with a little tweaking. Namely getting rid of NoNo Toure.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
Look at england. Sven wasnt good enough, McClaren wasnt good enough, Lots of poeple are now saying Capello isnt good enough. No matter how many managers england have they will still be the same. It is the players. Same here. At he moment we do not have a world beating side. Take out Tevez and Silva and suddenly we look average (in terms of a title challenge).
We have a lot of new players and Mancini still hasnt cleared out all the Hughes players he doesnt want. We change manager again and that guy will have to get rid of the Hughes and Mancini players he doesnt want. Which will take another season, by which time he will have been sacked and the new guy will have 3 managers worth of deadwood to clear.
Hughes was here for 18 months and signed 18 players Mancini has been here almost a year and signed 8 players. In the same time 40 players have left. What if the new manager wants another 10 players and sells another 10 players. Thats over a sqauds worth of players that have come and gone in less than 2 1/2 years. We will never challenge unless we get a settled side and a manager gets over 18 months to shape his side. Yes other clubs have done it in a shorter space of time. Chelsea for example but chelsea were a top 6 side for almost 10 years before they got their money. We werent.
Mancini is not a bad manager but he needs more than 1 year to clear out the Hughes deadwood and get us to challenge. After last season people would have been happy with 4th or 3rd. But now fans seem to think we can win the league. We cant, we arent that good yet.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
But the thing is Jim, we all know it hasnt been an exhilarating start to the season, far from it.
We just believe having a knee jerk reaction and sacking him after less than a year will do us no favours.
Im not having a go at you, I can see how it looks but as there are only a few us on here and it is more one on one and there are only two of you that want to sack him.

Re: Bobby Manc - Yea or Neigh?
I understand your backing of him Alf, I really do. However, I find it depressing watching us at the moment, and it breaks my heart to say that. You see the sort of football that Arsenal play and ask why can't we play like that. Yes, they've been playing that way for years whereas our current squad has only been together since the end of August. Now, that's four months, and is it unreasonable to expect that there would be some signs of things gelling? Even watching Villa and the pace they had bombing forward on saturday (until they stopped playing when they thought the job was done!). FFS, even sunderland had something like 20 efforts against Chelsea. Is it that much to ask that the manager sends the team out to actually have a go at the opposition. Even a win and a defeat this past week would have seen us a point better off. Still hope to be over for the Blackpool game on New Year's day though, sad fucker that I am. Therefore, that means we'll lose that one for sure!

Yeah; if you're loitering around town on the day of the B/pool game (New Year's day), I'll buy you a sweet sherry! The rest on here probably won't talk to us; so that's a brucie bonus then!maineman wrote:jim meet?
