He is a quality player, when he can be arsed. Other times he just sulks. We will have a better attitude around the place with him gone.

I'm going to miss him, I loved him. 2 years back he was the most gifted player I'd ever seen in a City shirt alongside GIO! How times change!
I wish him well though and still love him a little bit

Re: Elano sold
I will miss him, but things have changed so dramatically that his place was always in danger. I think he is a better player than this transfer indicates, gallatasaray for fucks sake, grave yard for ex blues. When he was on form he was mint, and lets not forget the best penalty taker the club has ever had. Too many people fixated on the negatives with him, and anyone who says good riddance is completely graceless. The club have officially thanked him for his service and so do i.

Re: Elano sold
Thanks.
Sorry i didnt love a player that played a good game every so often and then threw in an amazing one even less.
To call me graceless, is an insult that isnt called for tbh.

Re: Elano sold
In that case, you said good riddance to nearly every player that's left this club for the past 15 years?

Well if that is the case then so be it, but i didnt think on this site we said this kind of thing.
I have seen a lot of shit players play in our colours over the course of 32 years but i have never been called graceless.
Ali b pissed all over Elano for what he actually acheived with us, but Elano is probably the better player.
Make of that what you will, i have never said much else when talking of Elano but that dosnt make what i am saying now he has gone graceless, i wished Vas well and countless others but least they tried.
I dont take kindly to being name checked in such a shitty fashion, i would rather have you or John say "hey Alan i think your wrong but you have your opinion we have ours"
Also i never mentioned your comment about that was nice also, you compared me to a footballing idiot rather than discuss the matter.
So how graceless is that ?

Re: Elano sold
Surely you know us better than to think we were typecasting you. We all know we have our opinions.
Tbh,
it's not just you - I'm very pissed off with some City 'fans' today.
It's very rag-esque how suddenly because Ela has moved on, he was
'shit' and 'never tried'. Give us a break, the man is a fully fledged
Brazillian international. He was the first great player we'd had in a
long period - since the Ali B days.
The graceless comment about my comment - taken, and I apologise for it.

Re: Elano sold
Thank you, appologie accepted.
Now onto discussion
I hope you do know that i have always been disgruntled with him, i think more so because he had the talent and maybe not the heart.
You are right about the internationals but fuck me what a diferent player in yellow to blue, Robinho is the same seems such a diferent player when off on an international jolly.
But imo it is wrong for the Elano fans to blame Hughes for this, he played well under Sven only until xmas of that season and infact he probably looked more of a team player under Hughes (maybe because Rob was here ) but he isnt consistent enough at the level that "WE" all want now.
The daft thing is the better we get as a team, the better he would more than likely have played.
Elano = Enigma
Truce

Good riddance? .
that is where my graceless comment came from . Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion obviously walfie and I respect everyones on here , call me old fashioned but I see it in a similar vein to speaking ill of the dead, remember the good bits , dont mention if they were objectionable. Over the last months or so its become a raggish trait to wave players off with a two fingered salute, and call them shite. We as city fans have made heroes out of players that were awfull, elano was not awful, but by some fans reactions you would think he was less deserving of playing at city than berti or negouai.

Re: Elano sold
At the end of the day John he failed to deliver on his undoubted talent, i do understand about hero's from shit lol i have had plenty over the years, i just feel a tad let down in the modern era that he didnt seem to give his all.
If you want my list of Fav's over the years you will cringe.
Reeves,
Moulden,
Bond (k)
Nixon,
Dibble,
Simpson(paul),
White,
Redmond,
Big Joe,
My memory of the late 70's as a supporter is hazy at best and i truely wished i had taken more notice and then i would have seen us win a cup and finish 2nd in the league but i can not even claim that, i could claim lack of tv coverage at an age i was in bed before itv's big match and beeb's mod lol, but the truth is everybody i played out on the street with where utd fans and i like to be odd.
This is how my love affair started nothing else, but i am still here and hoping

Re: Elano sold
Saw all this lot play walfie and at the time they were playing for us they were heroes to me as well, but all had their faults. Some more noteable than others.
Reeves,
Moulden,
Bond (k) , played cos of daddy
Nixon,
Dibble, lack of awareness
Simpson(paul),
White, fast as fuck, you knew he hit a good cross because he always landed on his pie eatin ass
Redmond, at least once a game hoofed it out of defence only for it to go backwards over his head back into the box
Big Joe, bobbins in the begining but got given time and became a great
all wore the blue shirt so i will retain the good memories, and laugh at the shit ones
