Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
We played okay-ish, but never really looked like scoring. None of the players could say they played up to their potential. Ah well. All the wankers will be out in force on BM. I'l only visit downstairs over there today.

It's fairly quiet at the moment Jim. It's almost as though the fans can't be arsed as well as the players. I got no buzz today from a game against the rags. How weird is that?

Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
More like 6, and even then it's still unlikely. Tin hat time, but I'm not that bothered if we don't get into Europe next season. If it means we have a more successful season (top 6?) and/or win either of the two domestic trophies, I'd accept that.Derek wrote:I think we can still finish 7th. Need 4 points i think.

Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
True. I think Fulham will lose to Everton, but beat Newcastle so that means 6 points should do it. I would take top 6 and a cup. But I think to get the players we wamt we eitehr need a world famous manager or europe.jimharri wrote:More like 6, and even then it's still unlikely. Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
i agree we need europe to help attract the big players and there is no guarantee that if we don't get 7th this season then next season we will do well in the league and win a cup.Derek wrote:True. Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
Agreed; there are no guarantees of doing well next season if we weren't in Europe. Hence the "If" in my post. As for being in Europe to help attract potential transfer targets, I'm not sure that being in the Europa League (or whatever it's now called) will attract the Eto'o's, Villas etc etc.Stato wrote:i agree we need europe to help attract the big players and there is no guarantee that if we don't get 7th this season then next season we will do well in the league and win a cup.Derek wrote:True. Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
We need to use the Europa League to show potential targets the A, we can offer European football and B, To show we are improving.
Its much harder to sell a club to a player when we had European football last season but wont the next. We'll see what happens this year though, i think we've shown the football world what we're all about regardless of European football next season, even though i 'd really like it.

Re: Manchester City Vs the rags
The rags were average, so were we.The only difference between us was Hermann Munster.

Agreed. Think they had 3 shots and 2 went it, one via a deflection. Not a good game, poor result and performance, but we were by no means outclassed.
