What a fuckin trip it was......

Arrived at East Midlands airport, had a pint, chilled out then went to check in. Only to realise that we were flying from Birmingham airport and had 40 mins to check in. 30 mins in a taxi and £65 later we make it to Birmingham airport and board the plane.

Thursday we board the underground into Essen to get pissed before the game. The ticket machine is in German, but we know it's only 1 Euro 20 for a ticket so we get on and were going to pay on the train. The conductors came round, didn't speak English and a 40 Euro fine each and 5 mins later we end up in Essen.

We arrive in Essen and meet some City fans and start to get pissed. We explained our story only to be told that if you have a match ticket then all public transport is free for the full day anywhere in the city........

Thursday night we set our alarm we 6.30 in the morning as we need to catch the 7.26am train to the airport for our flight. Alarm goes off, only for us to realise we hadn't changed to time on our phone and were running an hour late. 40 mins in a taxi and 75 Euros later we make it to the airport and fly home.

Plus plenty of stuff that happened in between.

Wouldn't swap it for the world though, quality trip.
