I'm going with Shinpads positive slant on this rather than Mats natural pessimism.

You can always rely on them to let us down.

You can only be let down if you expect something different.
Just to piss you off even more Brum have won a silver cup today.

Yep. Why can't we do that. Even once every few years would be nice. We should be winning the odd cup. That defeat at West Brom still rankles with me.bluealf wrote:You can only be let down if you expect something different.

Well at least it keeps Arsenal trophyless for what ever length of time.
Which is far worse in some ways than our own predicament considering the strength of their team during the trophyless period.

6 years. Imagine that; six whole years without a trophy. My heart bleeds for them.bluealf wrote:Well at least it keeps Arsenal trophyless for what ever length of time.

Re: City V Fugham
But 6 whole years of actual challenging, as you missed the point I will be blunter.
We are into how many years of our owners plan ?
1 if mancini or 2 with hughes and mancini together.
Starting a team from near enough scratch, I will be giving it a little longer before worrying about another trophyless season.

Re: City V Fugham
True, to a degree. But Arsenal seem to have regularly picked up pots, even pre-Wenger. Even when they were mediocre (late seventies through to early nineties), they'd win an FA Cup or a League cup. I doubt they've ever gone as long without a trophy as we have Alf. I just want to see us win something again Alf, and sooner rather than later. Is that so much to ask?bluealf wrote:But 6 whole years of actual challenging, as you missed the point I will be blunter.

Re: City V Fugham
It is not Jim, it is all I want myself, just you seem to get to upset about it.
This time we genuinely have a sot of being around challenging for 20 years that seems to be the cycle for success, I dont always back Mancini or Hughes blindly, I just see no point in getting rid as it just sets the club back a year if not 2 in fact.
bacln cunt spent big for the time era and nearly got the mallet before it all clicked into place for him the jammy cunt, they where only good for a cup run until the prem took off under sky's pounds, now it will be our turn soon enough.
I'm never really having a go at you in here, just trying to bring you out of a 34 year depression mate, have a bit of confidence, ignore any knee jerking to bad results and think by now under Sven we where already on a slide down to 9th place finish, we are still third in 2 cups still.
Better than anything in recent memory, whats not to like about it.

Re: City V Fugham
And I'm not having a pop at you either. I just can't for the life of me understand why a club like Birmingham (with a squad full of journeymen) can get to Wembley and pick up a trophy, yet we can't. And no; I wouldn't swap Brum's league position for ours. I'm just sick and tired of waiting, that's all. And yes, I do get upset about it. I probably shouldn't (had enough shit to deal with this past few years), but I do.bluealf wrote:It is not Jim, it is all I want myself, just you seem to get to upset about it.
