The ST Debate Empty The ST Debate

Since its Hot Topic right now:

City shouldn't have increased prices
For me it goes against everything our owners initially and more recently Garry Cook have preached aboutt he culture and the vision of the club.

We'll own the matchday food/drink outlets around the ground soon with "City Streeet", we'll make revenue on none match days from the same outlets and with a renowned vocal following spurring us on, the full stadium and cheap prices will repay themselves.

I don't agree better players equals higher prices either... ST sales will cover the operating costs of the stadium for a few matches, if that, it certainly wont be a season long asset bleeding into the transfer kitty and paying players wages month on month. Its a small revenue stream which, imo, can be manipulated to get fans ito the ground on matchday and spending thier money elsewhere within City.

Forcing people to move
Much more difficult this for me, i don't get why they're segregating families, or uprooting long term ST holders from thier seats and forcing a premium on thier head. Again goes against everything we've been told. If there was a logical arguement for keeping the families in one spot i'd like to here it, but again it will detract from the match day atmosphere and could cause segregation amongst fans.

If im correct season ticket prices went down last year or at least they where held at the same price, so if inflation is 3.2% it is actually not really a rise at all is it ?

If the average rise is 5% and inflation went up 3.2% last year, then it is a rise?

Even then, we've got inflation busting owners, we've got inflation busting new revenue streams so i wouldn't like to think inflation was one of the primary factors in ST pricing.

Say: £100 ST for N/S Stand £150 for East/West stands. Match day tickets for all games £10.

Don't disparage between young and old, have prices that are good enough for our fans, regardless of age or background.

But that would be 3.2 + 3.2 inflation and a 5% rise in price over 2 years/seasons so not a rise, obviousley if your wage hasnt gone up it is an extra cost in real terms.
They are'nt fans either they are business men and didnt buy City just to make it cheap for the fans, at least they are not the Glazers and them yanks at Liverpool, so we should thank our lucky stars and not start "the owners are tight cunts" threads like elsewhere, lest they think we are ungrateful whingers.

Of course this is easy for me to say because I dont go to the matches as the cost is already prohibitive to my budget.

Anyways it is £18 to go and watch Carlisle Utd so quit bitching Razz

Mine went up 35 quid last season. £165 this season...ffs.

I'm all for success, but 6% would have been a pain for me, 85% is just not fair. Moving people, again, not fair.
Still, when they have the prawn brigade all around level 2 they'll be happy.

Not sure how much money will be made from people standing outside on City Street having a pint or 3 when it's -4 and pissing it down.

I've already said... the price of ST's will not have an impact on our end of year turnover.

Theres far better business plans, that would yield far greater financial results for the club, than this 5% rise imo. I don't quite understand where the figure has come from... what the increase represents?

ive calmed down a bit. Like i say the rise is not a problem personally but it will be to others because its not across the board , some get fucked over big style some dont.
My gripe is having to fucking move after 166 games sat in the same seat.
No idea where I will be sat next season but I will be there. Allegedly I get a choice of where to sit but i doubt that very much. with the ammount of season tickets already taken and the ammount of us that have to move i cant see the choice being very large. Add to that there are four of us that sit together , that fact alone will limit the choice. If it was me on my own I would just move to behind the dugout and say sod it.

Would you moan as much if you had to move seats to a shiny new stadium or will you take your old seat with you then ?

How is that relevant? Everyone would have equal choice with where to sit.

I hope the people forced out of the North Stand will be offset with families from around the ground moving in.

Hope you get 4 together Jon.

finally had a reply from the club about moving 4 of us and they have said that they will get us four seats together once we decide where we want to go. Now because I am the one requesting it and will be the first to renew, they have said that the other three seats will be held for a maximum of 7 days once I renew so that the other lads will get chance to take up those seats or not as the case maybe. I just hope that when i do see them they have all got the money in place.

I think i have done my bit its now down to the others.

Sorted my move last night, moved a grand total of 2 blocks round the corner, 92 seats along the same row. £425 with the £50 discount. Last season I paid £370 so I have no idea where they get the 6% rise from. To be honest I am just glad I have a season ticket again. Up to press non of my mates have renewed, if and when they do they will have to contact the club to see if we can all be put next to each other once all renewals are done. But having said that all of us would be happy just watching city.
