Adebayor
Not sure what to make of this signing. Clearly a big strong young lad, but obviously has been a disruption, specifically in his international team.
Wenger isn't usually wrong, and Arsenal fans are..let's say, amongst the less deluded out there, all I've heard from them so far is that they couldn't be happier with getting 25mil for "that lazy shite"

Re: Adebayor
I suppose we'll have to wait and see. I've seen those comments from gooners fans as well. All I'll say is that I'm prepared to give the guy a chance.

Re: Adebayor
It'd please me greatly if he scored 20/25 this year, being able to stuff the comment up their arses.
But at this moment in time, it just seems another peculiar signing.

Re: Adebayor
Wenger also said the fans forced him out
Jo scored twice yesterday for the blue dippers, i think that is a good thing and hopefully they will take him and not Ned as part ex for the klingon.
I think Jo has talent but the "FANS" have decided he is crap so the poor cunt will end up like Samaras if he stays here.

Samaras would have been quality. Played up front and not on the left, he scored some quality goals...that chest and volley vs WHU - amazing.
He came on at HT and changed (& won) the game for us against Everton, our last goals at home that season.

Re: Adebayor
Well we will never know now about him will we ?
But now we have the money will we ever again ?
Big Phil is the name.
Just something about him screams in equal measures brilliant/shite
I think he could be great but i dont think it will be with us now or Boj or Jo
I have seen us win nothing and i am so excited but it is still tinged slightly with regret.

Agreed. I think if we acheive great things in the next 1/2 years, it may have been to fast to avoid the 'buying success' type stuff.
Would have prefered us to do it with the Sturridge/Ireland/Onuoha/Dunne types still around, rather than with an entire new team of strikers.

Is that why they didn't sign on Flamini, when they had no one to repalce him?
Is that why they have failed to replace all the defensive mids they have lost in recent years, and now have a shit midfield becuase of it?
Is that why they sold Diarra and now he is first chocie for Real Madrid?
Is that why they have failed to win anything in quite a while?
Is that why we will come above them next year?

Re: Adebayor
Sorry to be so hard faced, but I've waited what will now be 34 years since we last won a trophy. Therefore, I'll take success any way we can get it. Ideally, yes. Winning the prem with the majority of the team having come through the academy alongside one or two mega buys would be perfection. Unfortunately, that ain't gonna happen. Blackburn and Chelsea have both bought prem titles since it's inception. Would their fans rather not have won it at all? Indeed, looking at the vermin and all the players in last season's team that they bought (Granny-shagger, Vidic, Camelman, Van der Valk, Berbaflop, Carrick, Anderson, Nanny-goat, Evra, Tranny etc etc), you could say they bought the bloody thing as well. It appears that youbuy success these days. So be it.quiet_riot wrote:bluealf wrote:

He did that because, quite rightly, he wouldn't break the wage structure. and if you'd paid attention, Flamini hasn't exactly set the San Siro alight.
Is that why they have failed to replace all the defensive mids they have lost in recent years, and now have a shit midfield becuase of it?
Shit, lmao. It's still better than ours.
Is that why they sold Diarra and now he is first chocie for Real Madrid?
He sold him because he was pants, and then he looked good in Pompey's shite team, RM bought him on the face of that - he won't start much this year.
Is that why they have failed to win anything in quite a while?
4 years isn't a patch on the 33 we've waited is it?
Is that why we will come above them next year?
I doubt it

Re: Adebayor
1 and 2) they don't have a proper defensive mid in their team and that is why they struggle to get anywhere higher than 4th.quiet_riot wrote:Derek wrote:

3) he played 20 times in half a season and did pretty well for them. It wouldn't surprise me if he did play and was their first choice defensive mid.
4) 4 year for a club that supposedly has a manager that is rarely wrong when buying players is a long time.
5) Unless they spend that money very very well they will struggle to get 4th.

Re: Adebayor
You realize how childish that makes you look? I was putting across my view and then you had to have a go at me becuase I was disagreeing with you. I think Wenger has lost it. The Premiership has changed a lot recently and his system of buying young and cheaply just doesn't work anymore.quiet_riot wrote:They will finish above us. end of

Tbf why are you sounding like you would love Arsenal to finish above us
It seems a bit mad on a City forum, is it worth it just so you can say fuck off Derek you cunt i know more on football matters than you.
I think we will finish higher than them this season if the new players gel quickly.

You know that's not the case alf, I'm City through and through. I just think Arsenal's team, with the likes of Arshavin, Cesc, Walcott, are better than Barry, RSC and Tevez, we're at least another season away from Arsenal, IMHO.
Also, my dog knows more than Derek.

Tbf he is posting some better stuff in the football section.
Arsenal have struggled this last 2 seasons and he hasnt set the transfer market alight. (mind fuck knows what he will pluck from the youth's/ reserve teams)
They are there for the taking imo.

Re: Adebayor
Good to see Etuhu there, good run and cross. Pity the booboys on BM already have it in for him.
He dosnt look to have the quality to succeed in the prem though tbf.
We slag Young from villa as just being a speed merchant etc and if Etuhu reaches that stage i think he will be lucky, he did look promising when we had Sven.
