Re: satna cruz
Have to say I'm underwhelmed at the signing.
However, most of Hughes' signings have been good, so I'll hang fire for the time being and judge him at Christmas, both goal-wise and injury-wise.

The thing is, if he flops big stylee, it doesn't really matter. We can afford to take the hit.

It's not the money though really, is it? It would be the stick we'd get. Remember, according to the beloved meeja, we already have a £32m flop, so they would then say we have £50m worth of flops!stony wrote:The thing is, if he flops big stylee, it doesn't really matter. Fuck em, with or without RSC I think we will make a serious charge on the top 4 this season. I think top 6 is a minimum target and I will be very disappointed if we don't push really hard for 4th. If we come close they can say all they want, we will have the last laugh.
At times I still can't believe we are so lucky and ADUG are going to make us the best in the world. If a dyed in the wool Blue can't accept it, then it's no surprise that the meeja are still sneering.
Our time will come Jim and it's coming sooner rather than later.

Re: satna cruz
Can't see us snagging 4th Stony, not this season anyway. I'm praying to be proved wrong though. A strong push for a spot in the top six, and maybe (whisper it!), a trophy is perfectly possible though!

Re: satna cruz
A bloody trophy this year would be just the ticket, i have been waiting long enough for one (even Carlisle have been to wembley/millenium stadium 5 times in this time winning twice )
We do need a target man and when fit and motivated he is a skillful one, we just have to keep him out of the treatment room.
So are we looking at a 4-4-2 season coming up ?
If we are we need a good left winger to allow Robbie to be the 2nd striker and leave Petrov has an able back up to blast into teams in the last 20mins before the 40 a day fags puffs him out so to speak

Re: satna cruz
Tbh, I don't think last years squad + RSC, Barry (& maybe Tevez) could challenge for the top 4.
We need a lot of quality in a lot of areas to challenge for that.

Re: satna cruz
What we need QR is a team that can perform away from home and we will make the top 6 easy and maybe push for the top four.
Tactics wand team selection will be crucial to acheave this.
I would even consider dropping Robinho for certain away games and definately in the winter months against the kickers, i think this is where the likes of Barry and Rsc and Bellers if fit will come to fruition.

We've not finished yet. Lets for the sake of argument that we have though. It will be Robbies second season and I think this year we will see him flying. Look what he did last year, 15 goals for a flop ? I can't wait for him to be average.
RSC won't just hold up play for Robbie, Stevie and Herman to join the attack. His hold up play will take a huge burden off the defence. Speaking of which, Dunney is gone and thank you Richard but we will be far better without him. if VK slips into centre back along side Ned, we will leak a lot less goals this season. Then we have Barry, he is the perfect link man between from defence to attacki. I think he is seriously underrated.
Micah knows he has to perform or he is gone so I think we will see him back to what we know he can do. Bridge was shite last year but I'm willing to put that down to lack of games. I think we will see a vast improvement next year.
Tevez will be important to us if he signs. His work rate alone will save a few goals and rescue a few lost causes.
Add to that the fact that we have taken one of our main rivals captain and most influential player. Signed two first choice targets from under the noses of an established top 4 side. Taken one of the rags best players and if we sign Lescot, we'll be breaking up one of the Prems most successful central defensive pairs, who also belong to another of our rivals.
We have barely started in the transfer window and we have already weakened(if we get Lescot) two of our rivals for top 6 while strengthening ourselves. We've also pissed on the chips of 2 title challengers by signing Barry and more than Likely Tezez.
I can't fucking wait, I'm buzzing. I really think this year we will crack on and upset some people.

Re: satna cruz
I always buzz at the thought of us doing something (a bit blinded that way lol)
But i think we are on the verge of big things and it has made us impacient and are wanting it NOW but if i have to wait another year or two it wont bother me that much, knowing we are trying to do it in the right manner and not do a Blackburn or Chelsea or even them red cunts (who never sign any superstars for money )
I dont want it as a one off season of success, i want it for the rest of my life.

We under performed last season Jim. Out squad was far better than our position in the league would have you believe.
I think a lot of that was lazy players not liking the work ethic of Leslie, they will be fucked off in the coming weeks.
I also think a few players had their noses put out of joint by our new wealth. Instead of stepping up a gear like Superman and meeting the challenge head on. They shrank back into their shells with a couldn't give a fuck attitude because they knew their days were numbered. Dunne is guilty of this imo.
Next season we will have a team that believes we are heading up and players who want to work for the manager.
Look what Gollum gets out of an average Everton squad. I think we will shock a few people.

I may be suffering from excess optimism though. I did the BBC predictor for next season and had us finishing top with 96 points
