Robinho 'Untouchable'

Manchester City have reportedly told Robinho he is “untouchable” after the Brazilian asked the club if they were planning on selling him.

According to the Sunday Mirror, the former Real Madrid star decided to seek assurances from the club about his future at Eastlands.

“He wanted to know if he will be sold at the end of the season,” the tabloid quotes a ‘City insider’ as saying.

“He was told he was untouchable.”

The Mirror then goes on to reveal that having been placated about his future at the club, the Brazilian insisted he was happy with life in Manchester and wants to stay.

“In return, Robinho gave assurances he is happy in Manchester and still wants to be a part of the owners ' ambitious plans for the future,” adds the ‘City insider’.

Robinho has enjoyed a lively start to his first season at Eastlands after joining the club for a British record transfer fee in the summer.

The Brazilian star has hit 11 Premier League goals as City have endured an inconsistent run, despite a wealth of new signings.

However, Robinho has also hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, notably leaving a training camp to return to Brazil without the club's permission.

Reports have also claimed that the Brazilian’s lack of discipline, flouting of club rules and general behaviour have antagonised team-mates and led to internal disputes at Eastlands.

Despite his generally impressive form on the pitch, the 25-year-old has consistently been linked with a move away from the club he only joined six months ago.

Chelsea have long been suitors of the former Santos man, although the Blues’ interest may have waned following the departure of compatriot Luiz Felipe Scolari.
