I know we have had more than our fair share of shit these last few week, but one interview on ssn today, made me sit up and take notice.
The Burnley manager was talking about the Spuds game and the one thing which stuck in my mind was something he said. I wasn't listening too carefully but he said something along the lines of "If we are playing the big teams like Chelsea, Man City and Man utd..."
6 months ago we wouldn't have got a mention, and now, without actually winning a thing, we are mentioned in the same breath as Chelsea and the rags.
Attitudes are slowly beginning to change, people are seeing a different City.

Re: Our image
I think it has been happening for a while now, but we should realise that it's the money talking. Nothing else.
We need to get some REAL credibility that maintains a high profile. And that can only happen on the pitch with progression.
That progression could be slow, but as long as it looks credible then the fear factor of the money will be a sitting time bomb for the rest of the football world.
Whilst we chase the kind of dreams that have no substance then we will look like twats. We need to build and, for example, I was delighted with the De Jong transfer. This is the type of player that we REALLY need.

Spot on Sharon. Off the pitch, we may well be big, maybe even mass......... no, better not! On the pitch we are a world away from the vermin and Chelsea. The likes of De Jong, Bridge and yes, Bellamy are the type of player we need at the moment. Get established in the top 6, then start looking at the megastars. Maybe win a trophy and start playing regularly in Europe. After that, who knows?mackenzie wrote:I think it has been happening for a while now, but we should realise that it's the money talking. But it is true.
