City Vs Spuds/yids, what ever you want to call them.
Always been a bogey team ever since 81 cup final in my opinion,
Should be a good game, spud games are always good even though we seem to lose them,
oh there was that FA Cup game at whitehart lane when we had that amazing come back and amazingly Macken scored as well,
Anyway tomorrow's game is going to be double hard to win as Redknapp has them flying at the moment even though i think they are still bottom of the table?
Any one fancy a win tomorrow or are we going score some great goals and then are defence are going to do an impression of Charlie Chaplin's collapsing car?
I hope not.
4-2 City for me and it being a classic game,
COME ON CITY
Remember 81 at Wembley.

I'd love 7-0, just to show him last time was no fluke.

I'm scared for this one and with Arse and Salford after that i really hope we get the three points.
I strongly dislike Spurs, hate Twitchnapp... but Hughes' zonal marking and side selections are leaving a lot to be desired. As always the team that can't buy a goal play City acrest of the "new manager" wave... Typical!

i hope so but, as i posted on BM:
Me on BM :) wrote:Just got back, if we play like that Sunday we'll get turned over.
A few things that i think are causing us problems:
Zonal Marking - Dunnie's flack is becasue of this, Micah's loss of form is becasue of this, the fact we've started letting in goals from corners is because of this, the fact we've started leaking goals period... is because of this. Liverpool proved zonal marking needs to die a speedy death, Hughes; sort it out!
Robinho - Hughes needs to show that's he's the boss of the team, either play Robinho in the hole where he can float effectively of tell him he's a left winger and stick to it, his moments of magic tonight proved the difference but the imbalance to the team all to often nulifies the 3 seconds of magic he can produce.
SWP - See above, played centre mid most of tonight, yet the one time he popped up on the wing he skinned two players and put in a great cross. We bought SWP to do what he does best, let him!
No CM - Gelson; DM, Ireland; AM, SWP; Any fucking where he feels like. No
wonder we get caught short on the break combine having no actual CM with the amount free roles allowed and we look like a bunch of school kids chasing a football.
Playing our best players in thier best positions - SWP, Robinho, Elano, Micah - arguebly our four best players, Garrido is argueably our best left back. Play the best players in thier best positions - Micah LB, Gelson RB and SWP CM isn't going toget us many points.
After the Boro game a defended Hughes's job at great lengths and i will continue to say that he should be kept on, however after another performance like the rest of the season (other than Portsmouth, what games have we actually looked good in? Exactly.) against a team who, when questioned, had absolutely no answers... and with the amount of people that can see our problems so blatently, we can't continue in the same vein.
Simple changes that would surely make a huge difference, i know i'm not asking for Hughes's job, nor preching i can do it better, but we don't have
the squad to allow Robinho to free ride every game let alone almost half the team. "Hughes's Teams" charateristics are sorely lacking for us on the pitch and its his traits we need most of right now.
Whilst we keep doing all of the above we look like we could ship goals with every opposition attack.

Time for Dunne to go.
3 goals he has given away this season. Not good enough.

I think it is hard. Are we expecting too much or is it that we are shit??
I would go with the shit. We were much better last year and we have a much better team. We have lost no one defensively yet seem to be unable to defend.

I predict serious meltdown there tonight.I cant be arsed with too much of it,seen it all before.Maybe that's a worrying indictment of how much we arelosing though ..... 7 (SEVEN) losses is too much before the end of the year . we are wank

can't see why everyone is having a go at hughes tonight, we did well considering the ref was such a cunt.

Hughes is the main reason we lost tonight, and twice last week and, well you get the picture. His tactical decisions re: personel and formation are causing us real problems when we have the talent in the team to be pushing for Europe and beyond.

Re: City Vs Spuds/yids, what ever you want to call them.
Why Vassell and Benjani started ahead of Jo and Elano, I don't know.
Vassell and Benjani are good players, but nowhere near good enough for what we want to be doing.
Atm, I wouldn't be upset if Hughes was sacked now.
We need The Special One!

Re: City Vs Spuds/yids, what ever you want to call them.
The ref did not help matters, had no control over the match and set the tone with a booking inside 5 mins.
Dunne is not great, but Micah's positional sense is awful. Both should be playing for their lives considering the type of player we can potentially attract.
TWO new Centre Halves needed, IMO.
Elano needs to start at home.
Vassell should not start.
SWP needs to be on the WING seeing as he is a WINGER.
Bentley is a twat.
Hughes' substitutions (or lack of, today) are very strange.
The majority of BMers are clueless about football.

Bringing on Hamann 10mins after the red car and after they'd equalise simply felt like rubbing salt into the wound.
The fact Elano sayed on the bench and TBH was about to come on until Dunne got sent off was just too much today.
I've rapidly lost every ounce of faith i had in Hughes

Re: City Vs Spuds/yids, what ever you want to call them.
I just sat in my seat in the Colin Bell stand and laughed.
I thought if we had 11 we'd have beaten them, both goals were defensive fuck ups and i felt sorry for Dunne who seemed to be the only player playing in his Position, Micah needs dropping as Zab and Garrido covered his arse countless times when he went walk about. And what the fuck was Leslie thinking when he nearly brought TBH on? Overall the 9 men did well for me.
The last 10 minutes i just couldn't stop laughing at the ineptitude of the bookie. How could Gelsons block be a second yellow, but Bentleys not a booking? Some of his decisions today were shite and he totally ruined the game. If we hadn't had fucked up twice we'd have won that, i think Joe only made one save all match. I really thought we'd get the equaliser too. I was so looking forward to singing "9 Men and you fucked it up".
Catflapp is either very lucky or left some envelopes for the match officials and, Les, after todays tactical nous has been demoted back to Leslie for me.

Re: City Vs Spuds/yids, what ever you want to call them.
We started with
-------------Hart
Zab----Micah-----Dunne---Garrido
-----------Gelson
----------SWP---Ireland
Vassell------------------Robinho
---------------Benj
So why on Earth he left SWP and Ireland as defensive cover in front of the back four for 10 mins is beyond me.
We're really struggling for DM, as VK is going to miss more games this
season because of bookings, so we really need one more at least.
SWP needs to play on the right, he is wasted anywhere else.
