Transfer window
I really hate that phrase.
But when does it open?
Apparently Hughes has a 250 million pound fund.

It's open already but players can't register yet.
I wouldn't believe everything you read about our budget. I suspect it's known only to a select few and I doubt a rigid figure has been imposed.

Re: Transfer window
Evening Mac. How are you doing? As Stony has already said, clubs can buy players now, but they can't register them until July 1st ( I think).

Re: Transfer window
I would love to see Lescot and Glen Johnson arrive. Our defence needs some serious beefing up, and it would piss both bin dippers off.
The blue dippers love Lescot and the red dippers are supposed to be after Johnson.
Getting Johnson might also be the kick up the arse that Micah needs.

Zab isn't good enough. He gets skinned at right back every time. I love his effort and commitment, but he is a weak link.

Re: Transfer window
Seconded. It would be fantastic if we landed those two. It's fairly obvious that our defence needs surgery; we're simply letting in too many goals. RB: Johnson
CB: Lescott
CB: Ned
LB: Bridge (until someone better becomes available)

Re: Transfer window
I really don't rate Lescott or Johnson. So I wouldn't want either.

I like the look of that but I can't help thinking it needs an older head in the centre. Someone like Terry instead of Ned. Then we could play Ned in the less important games and let him develop at a slower more steady pace. Instead of having to rush him into the first team. Look what's happened to Micah.
I can't see us getting Terry though, but Lescot and Johnson are definitely maybes.

Re: Transfer window
Lescott has signed a new long term contract yesterday, so he is off the list.
I believe to compare Neds to Micah is a bit harsh, he broke through before Micah and seems like he has an old head on young shoulders no doubt this due to actually posessing a brain and not just clever for a footballer but a clever lad full stop.
Neds is ready to step up to the mark like Stevie before him.

I want Ned as captain tbh. My fave player (if Elano goes)
