Have to say I'm underwhelmed at the signing.
However, most of Hughes' signings have been good, so I'll hang fire for the time being and judge him at Christmas, both goal-wise and injury-wise.

I can't say I'm impressed but on the other hand it's not that long ago he was tipped for the rags.

The thing is, if he flops big stylee, it doesn't really matter. We can afford to take the hit.

It's not the money though really, is it? It would be the stick we'd get. Remember, according to the beloved meeja, we already have a £32m flop, so they would then say we have £50m worth of flops!stony wrote:The thing is, if he flops big stylee, it doesn't really matter. Fuck em, with or without RSC I think we will make a serious charge on the top 4 this season. I think top 6 is a minimum target and I will be very disappointed if we don't push really hard for 4th. If we come close they can say all they want, we will have the last laugh.
At times I still can't believe we are so lucky and ADUG are going to make us the best in the world. If a dyed in the wool Blue can't accept it, then it's no surprise that the meeja are still sneering.
Our time will come Jim and it's coming sooner rather than later.

Re: satna cruz
Can't see us snagging 4th Stony, not this season anyway. I'm praying to be proved wrong though. A strong push for a spot in the top six, and maybe (whisper it!), a trophy is perfectly possible though!

Re: satna cruz
A bloody trophy this year would be just the ticket, i have been waiting long enough for one (even Carlisle have been to wembley/millenium stadium 5 times in this time winning twice
)
We do need a target man and when fit and motivated he is a skillful one, we just have to keep him out of the treatment room.
So are we looking at a 4-4-2 season coming up ?
If we are we need a good left winger to allow Robbie to be the 2nd striker and leave Petrov has an able back up to blast into teams in the last 20mins before the 40 a day fags puffs him out so to speak

Re: satna cruz
Tbh, I don't think last years squad + RSC, Barry (& maybe Tevez) could challenge for the top 4.
We need a lot of quality in a lot of areas to challenge for that.

Re: satna cruz
What we need QR is a team that can perform away from home and we will make the top 6 easy and maybe push for the top four.
Tactics wand team selection will be crucial to acheave this.
I would even consider dropping Robinho for certain away games and definately in the winter months against the kickers, i think this is where the likes of Barry and Rsc and Bellers if fit will come to fruition.
